I planned on camping on the Salkantay trek in Peru within a few months but since I never camped before I needed a practice run to at least see what I was getting myself into. Hence I chose to camp in the Grand Canyon during Thanksgiving week 2016. I hiked the South Kaibab, Bright Angel, and Rim trails.
